And no, that is not “how language works,” especially not the English language. That is how people use language to manipulate, by distorting the neutrality of words, and it’s the reason why we can no longer talk meaningfully to each other across tribal lines. We are speaking different languages.
In fact, yours may not even built on the premise of logos, if malware has rewritten aspects of your entire code. No wonder so many people skim everything now, individual words mean almost nothing to them…
(“Individual.” Are you familiar with that one? Look again.)
Only in a small tribal setting can language function that way, a family, a tight-knit community, with intrinsic connotations attached to words beyond their inherent meaning. The entire structure of language breaks down when ulterior associations and baggage are assumed to be the new “prescribed” standard. Meaning can no longer be intuited within the language itself, unless you’re privy to the revised code, which causes us to constantly misunderstand one another instead of using logic and reason to discern true mutual insight (and genuine empathy) between disparate peoples. It becomes an emotional tug-o-war instead, surrounded by landmines, rather than a dialogue meant to educate, elevate, and evolve our knowledge… understanding… and wisdom.
This is literally a return to primal pre-language tribalism where angry grunts and resentful sighs turn into all out conflict and war. You who do this commit the gravest evils that a person can commit, and we have been groomed to do it so casually, almost as a source of pride, a sense of tribal identity, when in reality it is a declaration of war that cannot be resolved peacefully.
This peace is what language was intended for, common ground, a shared tool kit much like math itself… but able to describe, reveal, and invoke all of the things that math alone cannot. Language is the sum of its parts, if you change or warp the innate meaning of those individual parts too much, there is no hope for equality or solidarity because our equations no longer add up to a common solution. Our words will start to lose their meaning more and more, or at least we will lose our ability to comprehend them at their source.
Words never truly lose their neutrality, only the emotions we use them with can do that, and those emotions will vary in each and every context.
